San Roque

The San Roque area is roughly defined as the neighborhoods above Upper State Street in the western/northern part of Santa Barbara. The area is all residential, but fronts the 2-mile commercial strip of Upper State Street.  Developed over several decades from the 1920’s to 1970’s, there is a variety of architectural styles.  In the heart of San Roque you can find some of the most charming between-the-wars designs, along beautiful tree-lined streets. There are also more affordable San Roque neighborhoods of  small vintage homes and newer tract-style homes.
